Spiritual Life

I didn’t know anything about the Episcopal Church until I came to All Saints’ Chapel. Sewanee has helped me find myself in a way I never thought possible. And for that, I will always be thankful. I’m able to live the life I want to live now. It has helped me find my best friends and be part of something greater—to say to others, “Welcome. Come as you are,” and actually believe it myself. I don’t feel judged in this place.

There are moments that take my breath away—that I have found a place like Sewanee, a place I didn’t know existed. And I grew up 20 minutes from here. I'm able to say that Sewanee made me who I am today, and I'm able to enter my spiritual life knowing that love heals and that God loves everyone for who they are, no matter their sexuality, gender, or who they choose to care about. That’s what belonging in Sewanee means to me.
