Dance is the art of movement; it’s dimensional expression. Dance is shaped by culture, style, and emotion, and its relevance travels along the curve of social change.

Why study Dance at Sewanee?

Dance courses at Sewanee will provide you with an inclusive learning environment, accommodating all levels and backgrounds—from experienced dancers seeking to develop their skills further to those discovering dance for the first time. Sewanee offers ballet, tap, jazz, and modern dance styles with accompanying courses that focus on composition and production.

All classes take place in the professionally equipped dance studio in the Tennessee Williams Center. In addition to academic dance courses, master class opportunities are often available to Sewanee students and the community.
