Facilities Management

I broke my hip back in February, and I was in the hospital for 27 days. I had some students come check on me. They called and messaged—blew my phone up. The students make Sewanee what it is. My thrill during the day is seeing students pass by. I wave to everybody. They call it the “Danny Wave." If I can see just one student smile, that makes my day. When I wave at someone, it makes a connection. Just last week, a member of a fraternity brought me a $100 gift card to eat at the Sewanee Inn. Students here are so unique. I thank God every day for them.
