One shall not lie, cheat, or steal. For more than a hundred years the Honor System has been one of Sewanee’s most cherished institutions. Upon entrance to the University, every student agrees to abide by this Honor System and is asked to sign a form signifying acceptance of this Honor Code.

The University celebrates the sesquicentennial of matriculation of its first students in 1868. More than 250 students will be awarded gowns and inducted as new members in the Order of the Gown during the Foundation Day Convocation that will kick off Family Weekend.
